 #CO$TOFWAR #MaggsVibo DETAILS: Experimenting with some "poetry price tags" using conceptualized Thrift Tag physicality and the idea of "Popping Tags" from popular culture. The price from "CO$T OF WAR" (8 with 12 zeros) is taken straight from the Costs of War Project from the Watson Institute Institute & Public Affairs at Brown University. The usage of labels was inspired from the visual poetry of Alec Finlay and others in the vispo scene. More to follow as I will track other costs using medical jargon, pie charts, and other office tools. This is an ongoing experiment using the materiality of uniforms, utilitarian fabrics, and many art techniques. The goal is to complete a book of visual poetry using my war experience as the catalyst. DEAR READER
Welcome to my literature, music, and visual poetry project. My blog represents a method for deciphering the fragments left behind in the Anthropocene. Writers use ashes as a metaphorical device in storytelling. Have you ever wondered about the symbolism of ashes? Archaeological fragments of tablet, papyrus, bone, scroll, and pottery are recognizable the world over. In our digital era, however, our lost folkloric works disintegrate into dust. In this sense, I consume the silver flakes and use my he{art] as a vessel to rise from dystopic wastelands. I share lore through the oral tradition. Ashes to Ashes we continue on ∞ to infinity ∞ We are ash. We are stories. We are star dust. We are eternal.
