ASHES TO ASHES
​2023 | Ashes to Ashes (visual poet), available in the Pluriversalis Collection, layout by Sal Nunkachov, published and marketed by Paper View Independent Publishers, Leiria, Portugal.
My visual poetry pamphlet utilizes a linguistic constraint by isolating the letters W-A-R and nesting them within other words to show how the repetition of violence permeates our language. My avant-garde war collection is made entirely from the ashes of the longest war in United States history. Using abstract fragments to repeat the malice of language, my personal actions in Iraq operate as a ritualistic poetic practice.
