#niallmunro #commemoration #oxfordbrookespoetrycentre DETAILS: Dr. Munro discusses his research as a Senior Lecturer in American Literature (specifically with war poetry). Special thanks to Dr. Munro as Director of Oxford Brookes University Poetry Centre to publish 'My teeth don't chew on shrapnel': an anthology of poetry by military veterans. This anthology was discussed during the Transforming the ways we commemorate war research by Dr. Niall Munro and Dr. Jane Potter. Watch the video on YouTube. In exploring what commemoration should look like in the 21st century, Niall has undertaken groundbreaking work as part of a major project. In collaboration with Professor Kate McLoughlin and Dr Catherine Gilbert from the University of Oxford, the ‘Post-War’ project brought together more than 1,200 participants and audience members from at least 24 countries, including artists, writers, composers, lawyers, academics, theologians and war veterans." #art #poetry #painting #darklore #walkabouts #museums #vispo #myths #literature #music #legends #dance #folklore #storytelling #maggsvibo #humanities #fairytales #blog #repository #talltales #gothichorror #festivals #artexhibitions #books #galleries #augmentedreality #exploration #AI #robots

DEAR READER
Welcome to my literature, music, and visual poetry project. My blog represents a method for deciphering the fragments left behind in the Anthropocene. Writers use ashes as a metaphorical device in storytelling. Have you ever wondered about the symbolism of ashes? Archaeological fragments of tablet, papyrus, bone, scroll, and pottery are recognizable the world over. In our digital era, however, our lost folkloric works disintegrate into dust. In this sense, I consume the silver flakes and use my he{art] as a vessel to rise from dystopic wastelands. I share lore through the oral tradition. Ashes to Ashes we continue on ∞ to infinity ∞ We are ash. We are stories. We are star dust. We are eternal.
